Go Ape!

It won't be long before the kids are off school again, the clocks spring forward and the sun visits for longer.. So it's time to get planning some outdoor activities!

One of my favourite things to do when the weather permits is to visit Go Ape! To swing between the trees at scary heights and admire the views from up there whilst laughing at my own lack of upper body strength! Have you ever been??

If not - you MUST put this on your 'to do' list this year!

If you visit the Go Ape! website you will be able to find your local site and book a time slot that suits online. We went to Delamere Forest near Chester and were part of a group of 8 other visitors. The staff there were really helpful and gave a clear and comprehensive tutorial before we went anywhere near the trees. They demonstrate exactly how to 'clip on and clip off' the cables that are wrapped around the tree trunks and expect everyone to show that they have understood this before moving forward, this really instilled that my safety really was in my own hands!

Here I am showing off my 'clips'

Nerves aside, I was excited to get climbing, there were so many different activities to tackle to get from tree to tree, and they cater for all abilities by providing an easier route for the faint hearted. I however took the 'extreme' route everytime!

My favourite part was the giant zip slides... Even though I landed on my back each time and ended up with wood chip down my pants!! But that's another story..

I don't want to give away too much but I can assure you there is enough to challenge the 'toughest' of your group without being too daunting for those who are a little fearful of heights. And don't think that you have to be 'super-fit' to complete it - you don't!

On a more serious note, It goes without saying that this type of activity carries it's dangers, but if you pay attention to the briefing and keep a sensible mind on the tree platforms you won't have to worry about falling because you will be constantly attached! So what are you waiting for??

If you happen to visit on a nice day like we did you will also be able to take advantage of some awesome views like this...

It really was a fantastic day all round!

The lovely lovely people of Go Ape provided us with passes in order to complete this review but the opinion is genuinely my own! I have been to Go Ape! on 2 occasions now and have had a fantastic time on both. The staff are friendly, helpful and reassuring if you are scared! They even give you the opportunity to get your money back if you decide on the first task that you're not 'up for it' and of course provide you with all the safety equipment you will need for a fun and safe experience.

I willl certainly be returning to Go Ape next time I get the chance - I'd love to visit a different site and maybe even tick them all off in time!
