What's great where you live?

I'm always up for trying new things and sometimes there are things to do, see & visit that I would have never known about if it hadn't have been for recommendations.

So this little post is an invitation for you to tell me what's great about where you live.

For example, I live in Prestwich, and there are many great things about this little village, so if you came to visit I would say you have to go for a walk through Prestwich clough, it runs between Bury New Road at St Mary's Flower Park all the way through to drinkwater park and is a lovely circular walk which is child & dog friendly!

Then I would say pop to Cuckoo, a little bar a very short walk from the clough to have some lovely food and drinks.

So if I came to visit your home town, what you recommend i do? Or where do you think I should eat/drink? Is there a MUST see attraction?

Please comment with your local recommendations and let's share the love for our home towns!

  1. Oh that place looks lovely - my doggy would love it!
Well my home town is Berwick Upon Tweed and the historical walls make a lovely walk. There are some fab places further into the country in the surrounding areas too - Bamburgh Castle, Seahouses, Hadrians wall and wayyy more.
Unfortunately I currently live in Newcastle because of work and I hate the city haha However near by we have a few nice beaches like Tynemouth and Whitley Bay. :)

    Best wishes, Danielle. x

    1. Hi Danielle, thanks for your comment.
I am going to be totally honest and say I had to google 'Berwick Upon Tweed' as I had no idea where it was other than that it might be near Scotland due to the mention of Hadrians Wall haha *hangs head in shame*
I've never really been anywhere on the East coast of Scorland so it's lovely to hear of things to do that way! I have been (briefly) to Newcastle but it was such a long time ago I can't remember what I did there!
I really would like to visit the East coast so maybe I'll put B-U-T on my list! I'll let you know if I do! :)

  2. It looks like you live in a lovely place. Our little market town is ace! A very friendly place with a beautiful church (with a very tall spire that I hope to go up one day), a wonderful grassy area with a stream running through it where the kids can paddle during the summer as well as many amazing places to eat. I live in Lincolnshire.

    1. Hi Bek, thanks for your comment. I think you should make it your duty to use this coming weekend to find out how you can get to the top of that spire! Make some enquiries, work out if there is any cost involved and get it booked! It might turn out to be much easier than you think and then you have be lee thing ticked off your bucket list!! :)

    1. Hi Vicky, thanks for your comment.
I love the beach so I am very envious that you live pretty much on it!! For us it's over an hours drive to the nearest seaside so we don't get to go all that often. The Isle of Wight sounds idyllic :)

  4. I live in Tollesbury in Essex. We are a rural village and the best thing we have is miles and miles of wonderful walking through countryside and along the estuary. Bring your walking boots! Also, as evidenced by my blog this month, I used to live in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. There is so much to do but I would suggest not to spend much time shopping and looking at sky scrapers, but get out into more rural areas and eat amazing food! If you are looking for a real experience of Malaysia somewhere more remote and unspoilt like Langkawi is a good bet.

  5. Looks lovely ... I have just moved to Lilley in the countryside so I have nature walks right outside the front door. It is so peaceful, I am loving it :)
